Locally shot film has Kirtland actors

Several Kirtland Community College students were selected for the cast in the indie film to be shot locally, Sledge to Vyborgskaya, has been selected, according to Paul Wheeler of Roscommon, the producer for the film.
KCC's William Campbell and Deborah Glicker will be playing the parts of the Lady and the Gentleman in the film. David B. Griffis of Houghton Lake will take on the role of the Officer, and the three students will be played by Sean and Ryan Casey, and James Rankin all of Grayling.
Noted area actor Jerry Werle will play the lead, Iona. Werle has appeared in professional, college and community theatre productions, including Escananba in da Moonlight, Frozen Stupid, and Picnic.
Rounding out the cast are several important supporting players, including Malinda George, Kevin Muns, and Jean Tovar all of Roscommon, Oscar Jimenez of Grayling and Gordon Cabay of Houghton Lake.
The cast is preparing for a very busy rehearsal and shooting schedule. The film is expected to begin shooting in January 2007. According to Wheeler, the film should be available on DVD by Fall 2007.
