There are many students here at Kirtland Community College and meeting new people here may be tough for some.
One student has been brave enough to break the ice for all, and her name is Whitney Moers. W
hitney, 20, has been attending Kirtland for two years. Majoring in nursing, she hopes to one day become a Registered Nurse. Knowing all along she wanted to be a nurse, Whitney decided to enroll at Kirtland.
Whitney has been in the nursing pro-gram for two years. Her search for a college led her to Kirtland. She liked Kirtland because it was "far but yet not too far from home," she said.
Home for Whitney is Tawas, which is where she was born and raised. She graduated from Tawas High School. In her spare time, Whitney enjoys playing softball, but softball is not one of the sports the Firebirds play.
Whitney enjoys everything a normal 20-year-old would including shopping, spending time with friends, watching movies and snowboarding.
If you happen to see Whitney on cam-pus, break the ice and tell her hello!
